{"id":102840,"date":"2019-07-01T14:48:21","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T13:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nua.tg4.ie\/corporate\/press\/press-releases\/2019-2\/stiurthoir-airgeadais-gno-tg4-ag-eiri-as\/"},"modified":"2019-07-01T14:56:57","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T13:56:57","slug":"tg4s-director-of-finance-business-affairs-to-step-down","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dev.tg4.ie\/en\/information\/press\/press-releases\/2019-2\/tg4s-director-of-finance-business-affairs-to-step-down\/","title":{"rendered":"TG4\u2019s Director of Finance &#038; Business Affairs to Step Down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TG4<\/strong> has announced that their Director of Finance and Business Affairs, <strong>Mary U\u00ed Chadhain<\/strong>, will be stepping down in September 2019, after serving with the organisation for 19 years.<\/p>\n<p>Mary, who has worked with <strong>TG4<\/strong> since the year 2000, has decided to officially step down from her duties in September.<\/p>\n<p>This is what she had to say today about her decision:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am leaving <strong>TG4<\/strong> after a wonderful 20 year journey and I would like to heartfully congratulate and thank all my colleagues and partners in the industry, for what we have achieved together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have every confidence that <strong>TG4<\/strong> will continue to flourish and develop in the coming years, providing an entertaining, high quality service for our audiences\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As Director of Finance &amp; Business Development, Mary has had responsibility for financial regulation and business development in the organisation. \u00a0She has played a central role in the development of the independent production sector in Ireland, dealing with companies developing their businesses, as well as in the roll out of multi-annual production agreements.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Cashel, in Connemara, Mary has an extensive business background, her family being the Boulgers, who have been involved in the hospitality industry in the area for many years. She worked for a number of companies in Connemara before taking up her role with <strong>TG4<\/strong>. She also has a background in the breeding, buying and selling of Connemara Ponies.<\/p>\n<p>In her role as Director of Finance &amp; Business, Mary has been integral to the development of <strong>TG4<\/strong>\u2019s Strategic Five-Year Plan and in the preparation of reports and annual documentation for <strong>TG4<\/strong>\u2019s stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Mary has shown great leadership in relation to securing funding increases for <strong>TG4<\/strong>, from both public and private sources.<\/p>\n<p>She has also represented <strong>TG4<\/strong> on various business and development fora, including IBEC and NIMUX.<\/p>\n<p>Making the announcement today, <strong>TG4<\/strong>\u2019s Director General, <strong>Alan Esslemont<\/strong> says:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMary has been an invaluable member of the <strong>TG4<\/strong> Senior Management Team for many years. She has very extensive and varied expertise, which means that she commands great respect and trust from both staff and the production sector alike. It is to \u00dadar\u00e1s na Gaeltachta\u2019s advantage that she will be continuing in her role as a member of their board and we wish her well, wherever the next stages of her life journey bring her\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Chair of the <strong>TG4<\/strong> Board, <strong>Si\u00fan N\u00ed Raghallaigh<\/strong>, also had this to say about the announcement:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018As Company Secretary, Mary played a very important role on the Board of <strong>TG4<\/strong>.
