Produced by Magamedia and based on the book \u2018The Thing About December\u2019 by D\u00f3nal Ryan. This is the third film presented by Cine4, following on from Finky (2019) and Arracht (2020), supported by TG4, Screen Ireland &#038; BAI.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe feature docu-drama <strong>The Queen v Patrick O\u2019Donnell<\/strong>, will premiere online on 22nd July.  Produced by Rosg, it tells the true story of how a Donegal native killed a member of the assassination squad The Invincibles off the coast of South Africa in 1883.  <strong>Doineann<\/strong>, a TG4 \/ Northern Ireland Screen funded film will premier online on July 25th.  The Film Fleadh children\u2019s programme will screen Irish language animation <strong>Sol<\/strong>, a little boy\u2019s journey through grief.   For the second year, TG4 will sponsor the Short Film awards at the Fleadh, a category which showcases and promotes new emerging talent.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSpeaking about this year\u2019s Galway Film Fleadh <strong>TG4\u2019s Commissioning Editor Deirbhile N\u00ed Churraigh\u00edn<\/strong> said, <em>\u201cTG4 is delighted to premier three films at this year\u2019s Film Fleadh, including the third Cine4 release, which is a partnership between TG4, Screen Ireland and the BAI, to develop original feature films in the Irish language and to bring Irish language drama to Cinema audiences in Ireland and worldwide.  TG4 is also proud to sponsor the Short Film Awards category which recognises up and coming talent in film.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAll screenings can be booked via Galway Film Fleadh booking office:  <a href=\"https:\/\/galwayfilmfleadh.eventive.org\/films\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/galwayfilmfleadh.eventive.org\/films<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFurther details on each film below:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>CINE4 feature film, FOSCADH<\/strong> will receive its World Premiere at the 33rd Galway Film Fleadh on 23rd July, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Set in the stunning wild mountains of North Conamara, <strong>FOSCADH<\/strong> (meaning Shelter) is a delayed coming-of-age tale that will have you rooting for its hapless hero as he takes his first tentative steps into adulthood. <\/p>\n<p>Written and directed by Se\u00e1n Breathnach, <strong>FOSCADH<\/strong> is based on characters created by award-winning novelist Donal Ryan in his book <em>The Thing About December<\/em>.  It tells the story of na\u00efve recluse John Cunliffe who is suddenly propelled into manhood at the ripe old age of 28.  When his over-protective parents pass away, friendless John inherits mountain land that sits in the way of a lucrative wind-farm development where he is forced to navigate the choppy waters of trust, vengeance, and romance for the first time.  This 90-minute feature film was shot in Corr na M\u00f3na in County Galway and stars D\u00f3nall \u00d3 H\u00e9ala\u00ed <em>(Arracht)<\/em>, Fionnuala Flaherty <em>(Out of Innocence)<\/em> and Cillian \u00d3 Gairbh\u00ed <em>(Blood)<\/em> and is produced by Paddy Hayes <em>(Corp + Anam)<\/em>.  The screening on July 23rd at the 33rd Galway Film Fleadh coincides with the launch of the film\u2019s sumptuous soundtrack album by acclaimed Icelandic composer, Sin Fang, on the INNI Music label. <\/p>\n<p><strong>FOSCADH<\/strong> is part of the Cine4 scheme funded by Screen Ireland, TG4 and the BAI, and is proudly produced by Galway-based production company Magamedia.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Queen v Patrick O\u2019Donnell<\/strong> receives its premiere on 22nd July at this year\u2019s fleadh.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by ROSG <strong>The Queen v Patrick O\u2019Donnell<\/strong> is a feature docu-drama that reveals on screen for the first time the true story behind one of the most compelling murder plots in Irish history, a thrilling tale of violence, courtroom drama, romance and political intrigue. Containing evidence from British Home Office files kept secret for 100 years, it reveals shocking new information about the fate of the quiet-spoken Donegal man who killed the infamous informer James Carey on board a ship off the coast of South Africa in 1883. The main characters in the feature docu-drama are portrayed by critically acclaimed actors; Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhr\u00edde, Stephen Jones, Br\u00edd\u00edn N\u00ed Mhaoldomhnaigh and Sophie Campbell. Specialising in investigative journalism, over the years he has made many enemies in Dublin\u2019s criminal underworld. In search of peace and quiet, he and his wife Siobhan take their baby son Ois\u00edn to their holiday home on a remote island off the north-west coast of Ireland. There they keep to themselves, avoiding interaction with the islanders.<\/p>\n<p>Early one morning, Tom\u00e1s receives an urgent call from work and must return to the mainland, leaving Siobhan and Ois\u00edn on the island. Later that day he returns to find that they are both missing and, in desperation, seeks the help of the island\u2019s retired policewoman, Labhaoise. With warnings of an approaching storm, Labhaoise organises a search party of islanders. The next morning they make a grisly discovery \u2013 but it is not what they expected. Meanwhile, the storm is getting ever-closer to the island. Sol was created and produced by Belfast-based children\u2019s TV production company Paper Owl Films. Sol was co-commissioned by Celtic broadcasters TG4, S4C and BBC ALBA and distributed by Aardman.  Sol was funded by the British Film Institute\u2019s Young Audiences Content Fund, and from Northern Ireland Screen\u2019s Irish Language Broadcast Fund and Screen Fund.  Emmy award-winning Irish actor, Fionnula Flanagan voices Sol\u2019s grandmother alongside Myra Zepf (author and winner of Ireland\u2019s Children\u2019s Book of the Year prize) voices Sol\u2019s mother. Sol himself is voiced by 12-year-old Zana Akko\u00e7.
