TG4 is pleased to announce that \u00c1ine Lally has been appointed as the broadcaster’s new Communications Manager. \u00c1ine has over twenty years experience as a broadcast journalist and newscaster with Nuacht TG4\/RT\u00c9. <\/p>\n
In the late 1990s she began her television career in TG4’s Communications Department working with former Deputy Chief Executive P\u00e1draic \u00d3 Ciardha. She is known throughout Connemara and beyond for her unique journalistic and storytelling style giving insight into Gaeltacht and Irish-language communities in Ireland and abroad. During her years with Nuacht TG4, she has produced many documentaries about Irish Americans in Boston, New York, Pittsburgh and Louisiana. She has covered US elections for the station and has previously been a reporter for RT\u00c9’s Nationwide and also worked with Galway Bay FM. She was a researcher and presenter of entertainment series F\u00e9ilte for four years working with Aoife N\u00ed Thuairisg and S\u00edle N\u00ed Bhraon\u00e1in. In 2004 \u00c1ine presented Gradam Ceoil TG4 with P\u00e1id\u00ed \u00d3 Lion\u00e1ird. <\/p>\n
\u00c1ine is from An Spid\u00e9al in Connemara and is a daughter of well-known Galway businessman M\u00e1irt\u00edn Lally and his wife Br\u00edd. She has six brothers: Caoimh\u00edn, P\u00e1draig, Marcus, Diarmaid, M\u00e1irt\u00edn and D\u00f3nal. She is married to Joe Quinn from Galway City and they have two children Robert and Liadh. <\/p>\n
TG4 Director of Marketing, Development and Partnerships L\u00eds N\u00ed Dh\u00e1laigh<\/strong>, welcomed the appointment saying, “I would like to welcome \u00c1ine Lally to this important role in TG4. \u00c1ine has extensive journalism experience and knowledge of Irish language and Gaeltacht communities which will be a great asset as she undertakes the position of Communications Manager with TG4.
