TG4 in partnership with the Creative Ireland Programme of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, will celebrate Cruinni\u00fa na n\u00d3g 2023 with a number of series of short films with children and teenagers. Among these productions is a new series of Crutha\u00edm which celebrates young people’s creativity and innovation and adds to the event of Cruinni\u00fa na n\u00d3g 2023. There are two strands to this year\u2019s Crutha\u00edm creations- Eala\u00edn Ghainimh & Spraoi Samhla\u00edoch. These will be available on C\u00fala4’s YouTube channel here C\u00fala4<\/a> and on TG4.
\n <\/p>\n

Several primary schools took part in Cruth\u00e1im Eala\u00edn Ghainimh<\/strong> (Sand Art Project). <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Groups of 10\u201312-year-olds come together to work on a unique futuristic sand art project. We follow them on their journey as they realise their vision for what the world will look like 500 years from now. The children are asked to embrace a limitless sense of imagination and concoct a collective vision of what they would like their world to be. From words to mountains, skyscrapers to solar- powered airplanes; the possibilities are endless! We document their timeline from imaginative, original concepts, through tuition from a sand art expert to completion of their creation. Among the schools that took part are Scoil an Fheirt\u00e9araigh in Kerry, Gaelscoil Bhrian B\u00f3roimhe in Dublin, Gaelscoil Chnoc na R\u00e9 in Sligo and Gaelscoil na gCeithre M\u00e1istr\u00ed in Donegal. Also taking part is a young Gaeilgeoir, Ailbhe N\u00ed Chuaig, who lives in Spain.
\n <\/p>\n

Spraoi Samhla\u00edoch<\/strong> sheds light on young people\u2019s distinctive talents and on their unique energy in a national and international context. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Using their imaginations, we see a group of 5- and 6-year-olds immerse themselves in collaborative creativity based around the theme of the episode. Through art, story, song, and drama the children will express themselves and have plenty of fun along the way! Taking part in this series are pupils from Gaelscoil Mhuscra\u00ed in Cork, Scoil N\u00e1isi\u00fanta Chnoc na Naomh in Donegal, Scoil Mhuire in Rosmuc in Galway and Gaelscoil an Bhrad\u00e1in Feasa in Meath.
\n <\/p>\n

Also created to celebrate Cruinni\u00fa na n\u00d3g is a documentary film called Sean-N\u00f3s<\/strong> directed by Tadhg \u00d3g Mac Dhonnag\u00e1in which examines whether we can break with tradition and breathe new life into a sean-n\u00f3s song?<\/p>\n

This will be on TG4 on Saturday 10th June 3.55pm and on TG4\u2019s YouTube channel thereafter. This short documentary follows four young people, \u00c1ine N\u00ed Fhearraigh, Eibhl\u00edn N\u00ed Mh\u00e1irt\u00edn, Neasa Nic Dhonncha, and Sorcha N\u00ed Lorc\u00e1in as they embark on a musical journey together to put a sean-n\u00f3s song into the context of 2023. With the help of their mentors, rapper Ois\u00edn Mac and music producer V\u00fad\u00fa (Aaron \u00d3 S\u00failleabh\u00e1in) they create a new sean-n\u00f3s X hip-hop song.

Muireann N\u00ed Chiobh\u00e1in Commissioning Editor for Young People<\/strong> says, \u201cTG4 is very excited about \u2018Cruinni\u00fa na n\u00d3g\u2019 2023. This year features a new documentary film Sean-n\u00f3s, which follows four young people who look to see whether they can and should break with tradition and breathe new life into a sean-n\u00f3s song? There is also a new series of Crutha\u00edm, produced by Meangadh F\u00edb\u00edn, that showcases what creativity means for young people across Ireland and abroad. “<\/em>
