\nTG4, \u00dadar\u00e1s na Gaeltachta, and the Irish-language Production Sector have launched the fourth year of their successful Training Scheme, aimed at developing Irish-speaking talent across the national media industry. This year, several prominent production companies from Galway, Donegal, Waterford, and Dublin are playing a key role in training the next generation of Irish-language media professionals.
\n <\/p>\n

The scheme offers 15 trainees a one-year paid employment opportunity with television production companies, including major contributors such as Aniar in Casla, Co. Galway, HG Productions in Donegal, Nemeton and Red Shoe in Waterford, and Macalla in Dublin. These companies are central to the initiative, providing trainees with hands-on experience across various aspects of media production.
\n <\/p>\n

Galway Production Companies at the Forefront<\/strong><\/p>\n

Several Galway-based companies are actively involved in this year’s scheme, including Aniar in Casla, Ab\u00fa Media in Indreabh\u00e1n, MC2 in An Tulach, and Lorg Media in Galway City. John Nee is working with Aniar, Sin\u00e9ad Fatherty with Ab\u00fa Media, Bl\u00e1ith\u00edn de B\u00farca with MC2, and Evan \u00d3 Fl\u00e1tharta with Lorg Media. These Galway production companies, alongside other notable participants such as F\u00edb\u00edn, Dan\u00fa Media, Sti\u00faide\u00f3 Cuan, and Iris, are instrumental in delivering crucial industry experience to trainees.

Donegal Production Companies Nurturing Media Talent<\/strong><\/p>\n

Donegal is also playing an essential role in this year’s scheme. Leah N\u00ed Ghairbhigh from Gaoth Dobhair is employed by HG Productions, a company known for its production of the series Bus Ghlasc\u00fa and Aerfort Dh\u00fan na nGall. Additionally, LIGID L\u00e9ir\u00fach\u00e1in is participating in the scheme, contributing to the growth of Irish-language media talent.

Waterford Production Companies Leading in Training<\/strong><\/p>\n

Waterford-based production companies are making a significant impact as well. Eoin Dalt\u00fan and Lia Nic Craith are gaining valuable experience with Nemeton in An Rinn, focusing on sports, documentary, and entertainment production. Ciara N\u00ed Bhriain will be employed by Red Shoe Productions, working with Maggie Bhreathnach on music and arts programmes. <\/p>\n

The company S\u00fagradh, based in C\u00fail Aodha, is also actively participating.

Dublin Companies Paving the Way<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Dublin, Alannah O’Brien and C\u00fanla N\u00ed Bhraon\u00e1in Morris are working with Macalla, a company that produces content for C\u00fala4, TG4 and Cine4 projects. Tyrone Productions, another notable participant in the scheme, is also playing a key role in developing media talent.

A National Strategy for Regional and Irish-Language Media Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

Strengthening the Irish-language media sector is a key objective of TG4’s and \u00dadar\u00e1s na Gaeltachta’s national strategies. Production companies across Ireland are playing a significant role in achieving this goal, providing local talent with the opportunity to gain practical experience in media production.

L\u00eds N\u00ed Dh\u00e1laigh, Director of Marketing, Development, and Partnerships at TG4<\/strong>, stated, “This training initiative is a partnership between TG4, \u00dadar\u00e1s na Gaeltachta, and the independent sector. It is great to see so many companies across the country participating. These companies are at the forefront of Irish-language media, offering invaluable industry experience to the next generation of Irish-speaking talent.”<\/em>
