\nThe Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O\u2019Donovan TD, was in Conamara this evening as he visited the headquarters of TG4, where he was warmly welcomed by Cathaoirleach of TG4 Board Anna N\u00ed Ghallachair and station\u2019s newly appointed Ard-Sti\u00farth\u00f3ir, Deirdre N\u00ed Choist\u00edn. The visit marks a significant event for TG4 as the station, under new leadership, continues to develop its strategic vision for Irish-language and cultural programming. <\/p>\n

During his visit, Minister O’Donovan received an update on TG4’s activities, recent successes, and current projects aimed at strengthening the Irish language through high-quality programming on television and digital platforms. He met with members of TG4\u2019s team and discussed the station\u2019s support of Gaeltacht and regional production, innovation in public service media, and its ongoing influence on the media landscape both domestically and globally.<\/p>\n

Anna N\u00ed Ghallachair, Cathaoirleach of TG4 Board<\/strong>, welcomed the Minister\u2019s visit saying, “TG4 has long played a unique and significant role in promoting the Irish language, culture, and identity. Minister O\u2019Donovan\u2019s visit reaffirms the importance of that mission. We are particularly pleased to share our ambitions for the future of Irish-language broadcasting with him today.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Deirdre N\u00ed Choist\u00edn, Ard-Sti\u00farth\u00f3ir TG4<\/strong>, also commented, \u201cI was delighted to welcome Minister O\u2019Donovan to TG4 today. His visit is a testament to the importance of TG4\u2019s work and our value to society. We are proud to showcase the creativity, innovation, and successful partnerships TG4 has, and we look forward to continued support from the Minister in strengthening Irish language public service media for our audiences across all platforms.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n

Minister Patrick O\u2019Donovan TD<\/strong> added, “TG4 plays a central role in celebrating and sustaining our national language and culture. It continues to deliver imaginative, high-quality programming that reflects the richness and diversity of Irish life. The station’s contribution to the media landscape is both distinctive and invaluable, and I commend its ongoing commitment to public service broadcasting.”<\/em><\/p>\n

This evening at 7pm, the Minister attended the premiere of B\u00e1ite, in the Town Hall Theatre, the latest release from the Cine4 scheme.<\/p>\n

B\u00e1ite is produced by Dan\u00fa Media, through the Cine4 initiative co-funded by F\u00eds \u00c9ireann, TG4 and Coimisi\u00fan na Me\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

The minister\u2019s attendance at the launch highlights the government\u2019s ongoing support for the creative industries and the importance of regional and Irish-language storytelling on the big screen.
