TG4 is deeply saddened by the passing of broadcaster, writer, and Gael Manch\u00e1n Magan.
\n <\/p>\n
Manch\u00e1n was a passionate advocate for the Irish language and a gifted storyteller whose work enriched Irish culture and broadcasting. He had a long history with TG4 from its inception to recent times.
\n <\/p>\n
Manch\u00e1n was a deep thinker, presenter and filmmaker. Over the years, he presented and produced numerous series for TnaG and TG4, working often with his brother director Ru\u00e1n Magan on a wide range of productions that reflected his creativity, imagination and deep curiosity about Ireland\u2019s heritage, landscape and people, from his first travel series \u2018Manch\u00e1n ar Seachr\u00e1n\u2019 that aired the first week TnaG was on air, to \u2018No B\u00e9arla\u2019 and to his most recent series \u2018Ag Triall ar an Tobar\u2019.
\n <\/p>\n
It was his brother Ru\u00e1n who first pitched the idea for Manch\u00e1n ar Seachr\u00e1n to TnaG, proposing that Manch\u00e1n\u2019s life in the Himalayas would make for compelling television.
\n <\/p>\n

He offered a unique insight into the Irish language, Irish life, and travel through his deep knowledge that he shared generously with audiences.
