Growing up in a musical family, Matt displayed an aptitude for music from a young age, which led him to establish a significant reputation in Irish traditional music. H01e has won All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil titles, as well as The Fiddler of Dooney and Oireachtas Crotty Cup.<\/p>\n
Throughout his illustrious career, Matt has performed extensively at home in Ireland and worldwide, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with various groups. He has been a member of notable bands such as Na Fil\u00ed, Any Old Time and Sliabh Notes, thereby contributing significantly to the field of Irish traditional music. His book, The Irish Fiddle Book, is considered one of the most comprehensive instructional texts available to students of Irish traditional fiddle-music.
