The unprecedented, historic pardon has been covered by international media outlets such as SKY<\/strong>, BBC <\/strong>and others based in Britain<\/strong>, as well as the New York Times<\/strong> and Irish Central<\/strong> in the US<\/strong>. But perhaps more surprising is the level of interest from news outlets across the globe also, in places such as Brazil<\/strong>, Hungary<\/strong>, Indonesia<\/strong>, Switzerland<\/strong> and Russia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This interest is matched by a relatively large viewership of the programme online. Since it was first screened on TG4<\/strong> last Wednesday, the programme has been viewed extensively in the US<\/strong> and Britain<\/strong>, as well as in substantial numbers in Canada<\/strong>, Australia<\/strong>, Spain<\/strong>, France,<\/strong> the Netherlands<\/strong>, Germany<\/strong>, Japan<\/strong>, Singapore<\/strong> and the United Arab Emirates<\/strong>, to name but a few.<\/p>\n

The feature length film Murdair Mh\u00e1m Trasna<\/strong>, was commissioned by TG4<\/strong> and co-funded by the BAI<\/strong>. It tells the story of the miscarriage of justice which ensued, due to perjury and bribery, after the brutal murder of five members of the same family in M\u00e1m Trasna in the West of Ireland in 1882, which eventually contributed to the fall of a British government. It had its television premiere last week on TG4<\/strong> and is still available for viewing worldwide on the TG4player at www.tg4.ie\/mmt<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Murdair Mh\u00e1m Trasna<\/strong>,\u00a0is based on the book \u2018\u00c9ag\u00f3ir\u2019<\/strong>, written by former Language Commissioner, Se\u00e1n \u00d3 Cuirre\u00e1in, <\/strong>directed by Colm Bair\u00e9ad<\/strong> and produced by Ciar\u00e1n \u00d3 Cofaigh<\/strong> of ROSG.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
