TG4\u2019s Grace Harte<\/strong>,\u00a0a gripping drama with a dark twist, about a woman trapped in a passionless marriage in the West of Ireland, has won the prestigious international CIRCOM Media Award <\/strong>for Best Drama<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Grace Harte<\/strong> fought off competition from 233 entrants to be chosen by the Professional Association of Regional Public Service Television in Europe, CIRCOM<\/strong>, as\u00a0Winner\u00a0<\/strong>in the\u00a0Prix CIRCOM<\/strong>\u00a0category\u00a0for Entertainment and Drama<\/strong>. <\/strong>The award will be presented at the Prix CIRCOM Gala Award <\/strong>show on Thursday 24th May 2018, in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Grace Harte<\/strong> centers around a love triangle that ends tragically. It is a three part drama, set in a dilapidated hotel in the West of Ireland. It stars Kate Nic Chonaonaigh<\/strong> as Grace and IFTA winning actor Dara Devaney<\/strong>,<\/strong> as her husband Leo, who own the failing hotel, alongside Eoghan \u00d3 Dubhghaill<\/strong> as an ambitious surfer, who gets caught up in Grace\u2019s plan to murder her husband.<\/p>\n

The TG4 <\/strong>commissioned project, written by Antoine \u00d3 Flatharta, <\/strong>directed by Charlie McCarthy<\/strong> & produced by Martha O\u2019Neill<\/strong> for Wildfire Films<\/strong>, received support from the BAI<\/strong>\u2019s Sound & Vision<\/em><\/strong> scheme as well as Section 481<\/strong> funding.<\/p>\n

TG4<\/strong> Director General, Alan Esslemont<\/strong>, says, \u201cI\u2019d like to congratulate everyone involved in Grace Harte<\/strong>. It goes to show what can be achieved when creative partnerships bring together top quality talent, with collaboration from ambitious funders, to produce edgy drama.
