In total, almost three quarters of a million viewers (739,000) tuned to TG4 for some part of the afternoon’s coverage from Croke Park, which included both the division 1 and division 2 finals and also the spectacular Laochra  presentation of music, dance, song and pagentary that took place on the hallowed Croke Park turf immediately after yesterday’s League finals; the Laochra programme also making it into TG4’s all-time Top 10.

Yesterday’s coverage from Croke Park rounded off a busy GAA weekend for TG4 which had also provided live coverage of the Division 3 and Division 4 League Finals from Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.

TG4 Ardstiúrthóir Pól Ó Gallchóir, is naturally very pleased with Sunday’s audience figures.  “This weekend was always going to be a historic occasion in Croke Park,” he said “not just for the eight footballing counties participating in this year’s Allianz Football League Finals but their supporters and the large cast and crew for the wonderful Laochra project. The weather, the football and the spectaclular event that rounded off the day all combined to make for thrilling television. The record-breaking TV audience bears testament to the value of what TG4 stands for,  the quality of the content that it provides and the audience engagement.”
